Shy and introvert males often have a more difficult time finding a girlfriend that their more outgoing opposites. Yet that is not to say that being shy or reserved are traits that have to be overcome in order to get the lady of your dreams. It is not extroversion that will help you attract women, so to speak, but rather a few key traits that more easily spotted in an outgoing and talkative male than in a quiet and withdrawn one.

Of these traits confidence and independence are by far the most important. However these are not cultivated by taking after the habits of people who seem to have them. Let us start out with confidence. Confidence is all about belief in yourself, and it therefore stands to reason that trying to be something you are not is detrimental to it. Realize what your strengths are and let them define you. It does not matter if they are not as obvious as other people’s talents. While you might never be a socialite, inevitably some people will notice and be drawn to your positive attitude about yourself.

Being less social than other people even has the potential to be to your advantage in how it facilitates the second trait. Pursue your own interests regardless of what those around you might think and draw upon the satisfaction of doing what you like to fuel your self-esteem. You will be far more self-reliant than most and that will eventually attract the attention of others. Moreover it will make you infinitely more fascinating and mysterious than your more gregarious peers.

Yet while it will get the girls to like you, you will have to talk to them at some point in order to be successful at finding a girlfriend. The one and only way of becoming comfortable with doing so is to practice interacting with women and men alike. Not only will it help you in getting a girlfriend, but it will also make your life easier in general.
